PADI Dive Master Course

The Divemaster course is for people seeking an exciting and fulfilling career in scuba diving. As a divemaster, you get an opportunity to supervise scuba diving activities and diver training. You can thus inspire and motivate others and convert scuba diving into a fun activity.

The Divemaster course is your initial level of professional training. Your instructor will help you to hone your dive skills and improve your rescue skills. You will thus be able to foresee and solve common problems.

Consequently, you will become a role model for other divers, on the strength of your competencies in dive knowledge, management and supervision.

You should have completed the Rescue Diver course and be at least 18 years of age to qualify.

The following are mandatory requirements:

You should have trained in Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) , within the past 24 months.
A medical certificate signed by a physician, within the last 12 months.
You should have completed, at least 40 logged dives, to begin the course and further 60 dives to earn certification.
Divemaster course works on your leadership skills and prepares you, to assume control and take responsibility of dive activities.

Subjects and workshops comprise:

Watch, direct and help students in dive activities
The responsibilities and traits of a Divemaster
Ensuring safety of divers and management of risk
Conducting programs and enabling sharpening of specialized skills
Business of diving and managing your career
Knowledge and understanding of the dive environment
Dive infrastructure and its management
Creating maps of an open water site
Coordinating dive briefings /meetings
Planning and executing a search and recovery project and also a deep dive
Carrying out a scuba review and skin diver course
Heading Discover Local Diving and helping in Discover Scuba Diving programs.

Prerequisites for Dive Master
•⁠ ⁠Rescue Diver
•⁠ ⁠Current First Aid
•⁠ ⁠All safety gear such as SMB, Compass, knives and dive computer.

Start: 40 logged dives

Cert.: 60 logged dives

Application Fee: After completing the course, the Dive Master (DM) fee will need to be paid directly to PADI.
